Not sure about favorites, but I could see Dee relating to “Human” by The Pretenders in her pre-Danny era: wanting to be in a functional, normal relationship but feeling the need to keep her distance because of what she is and never being able to have a guy willing to stick around after attempting sex (not that I’d blame them!)
For when Dee and Danny are realizing their chemistry, I like The Cars’ “Magic” since it reminds me of the infatuation of a starting relationship, each seeing “magic” in the others eyes (not that Danny would call it that), where when it’s just the two of you that’s all the universe consists of.
For books, Dee has got to like ‘Jonathon Livingston Seagull’. Beyond the obvious flight talk, it’s also about transformation, and learning to love yourself, and how being happy in your own skin but still being able to reach for more is ok. I can’t imagine her not liking that book.
Dee loves Jane Eyre. She might not even realize that she identifies with Jane who strives to do all things honorable and holds herself back from reaching for what she believes she cannot have. Jane, of course, does find her heart’s desire at the end… but look what she and Rochester went through to get to that point.
In movies, she watches The Wizard of Oz whenever it’s on tv. Dorothy didn’t want that technicolor world of witches, talking scarecrows, flying monkeys, and trees that hurled fruit at her. She wanted a home where she was safe and loved. Now, if there’d been a man like Danny James in Oz, Dorothy would have tossed the ruby slippers and stayed.

Dee’s favorite song has to be Lenny Kravitz’s Fly Away. Favorite book, Fear of Flying. But that’s a secret.

Well, cheesy though it may be, I bet she likes the song “Danny Boy”. And she must relate to the Shaggy Dog movies. (And although the one with Tim Allen is funny enough, she prefers the originals, thank you very much.)
Books, who can pick a favorite? But I think she might enjoy the Lemony Snicket series. A trio of children orphaned young, with an older sister who has to grow up before her time and make sure her siblings are OK as a nasty relative tries to do them harm . . .

Dee’s favorite book is Pride & Prejudice. It’s about sisters and looking out for one’s sisters and it’s a romance.
I think she might like Louisa May Alcott’s books, especially “Little Women”. I’m thinking she would also really like the Steve Miller Band’s “Fly Like An Eagle” and Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings”. As for classics, she would also secretly be fascinated by both the book and the movie, “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” because he had no more control over his changes than she does. And the comic book series “The Incredible Hulk” would speak to her because David Bannon couldn’t control his metamorphisis into the Hulk whenever he got angry, just like she morph’s into her dates’ mothers when she is turned on.

Trying again:
Dee’s favorite book is Pride & Prejudice. It’s about sisters and about looking out for one’s sisters and it’s a romance where the happy ending includes being able to take care of one’s sisters.

Dee’s favorite song is “Do You Believe in Magic?” It’s her and Danny’s song, after all.

Song: “I Want to Vanish” by Elvis Costello (but I can see her digging the Ann Sophie von Otter cover)
Movie: Casablanca. She seems conventional and it is the best goddamn movie ever. Plus, the ethic is giving up love for the greater good/duty, which seems to fit well with her character.
Book: something by Arturo Perez Reverte. They all kinda seem to be the same book, but they’re elegant intelligent mysteries set in exotic (to an American aesthetic) locales.

Dee loves the books by Louisa May Alcott. Her favorite movies are Casablanca and The Chronicles of Narnia. She digs music by Shania Twain.
I think that Dee would like to lose herself in things that she cannot experience. She’s a bit of a romantic.
Book - Anything Harlequin
Music - I Will Fix You, by Coldplay.
Movie - Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon.

I think her favorite song is Come Away With Me by Norah Jones.
I’m still thinking about what her favorite book and movie could be

Oh, I love “Human.” Have ever since Cupid was on. I think I’m going to use it as part of the soundtrack for my next book. Great, great song.
