Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous
The site is up and we love it, and even better, it has freebies on it for you. Three amazing desktop wallpaper designs and two avatars. Just hit the download button above.
Mollie and Mara are fabulous, that’s all there is to it.

Oooh goody, toys. So much fun. I love it!
I am apparently living under a rock, but what’s a community avatar? The blinky thing? Of course I want the Hocus Pocus Hanky Panky (still giggling) but I don’t know what it is. I tried the set as background thing but it doesn’t blink.
I’ll ask Mollie to explain. Because I don’t know. I’m thinking it’s just an avatar you use in communities.
The Hocus Pocus/Hanky Panky looks great there, doesn’t it? You’re a genius with the taglines. We’re using “the only thing worse” line in the blurbs because it’s such a great kicker and now I want to write a BOOK on “Love is a Witch.” It’s such a great line.
Genius. We have genius fans.
Update: I’ve just added Wiki links to the Downloads page to better explain both desktop wallpaper and avatars. They have all the info you could want and then some.
Thank you, Mollie.
Mollie and Mara GOOD JOB.
Looks amazing.
It’s really gorgeous. Great job M&M.
*blush* Thanks. But it was a total fluke, I’m telling you. I’m still amazed.
Got the 2nd wallpaper up, looks great.
Thanks for the explanations, Mollie.
I got a package in the mail today.
Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies! My ARC came today and it’s not nearly as ugly as you made it out to be. But, I love purple. I’m gonna go read now. I’m so excited! *grin*
Hey, guys, I still haven’t heard from Dee. She gets a book, and we need her address. Anybody in contact with her? Let me know.
I just sent Dee an email asking her whether she had lost her mind. I’m pretty sure that’s the only viable excuse.
Of course, I volunteered to take charge of the ARC for her. With that as motivation I’m sure you’ll be hearing from her very soon, never mind that she’s travelling.
BTW, VERY beautiful site, Mollie and Mara. Just gorgeous.
Hmmm. Hey, Eileen? It has been pointed out by someone more astute than I (that would be McB) that Dee did not win an ARC. The winners were Me (no, not me, ME) and Auntie Em and Jamie, with honorable mentions going to Orangehands and Mary.
So . . . which of the five do you not yet have contact info for?
I’m pretty sure Dee just had a heart attack, though, after reading her email. Sorry, Dee.
Write that one down … BCB just admitted I was more astute that her.
I do believe that the only Dee involved here was Dee Fortune. You might have heard of her? But if the other Dee does indeed get an arc, you can send it to me and I’ll get it to her. Honest. I’ll take very good care of it and treat it just as if it were my own.
Okay, the original announcement is copied below, and by that it appears that the winners are
me
orangehands
Auntie Em
Mary the CB and
Jamie.
So who didn’t give Eileen her address?
We have six more contests planned here, so we have to get our acts together. Argh.
Original Announcement:
Well, I’m not sure about the rest of the winners, but we all know the fastest way to get something to Auntie Em is to close your eyes, click your heels together three times and . . .
We don’t want to GO to Auntie Em, we want to send her the nice prize. Although we may already have; Eileen was doing the sending, bless her heart.
I think next time you guys should have an auction for several ARC books, with the proceeds going to charity. On top of sending out ARCs for tagline and other contests. More ARCs are a good thing.
You know, I got e-mails and comments on my blog when that announcement went up, saying “YOU WON AN ARC!!” and I *did* almost have a heart attack. Then I came here and realized that it was not me that won the arc. Well, of course ME won, but you already know that.
However, in the event that one of your winners fails to contact you, and you have an extra copy of the book just laying around, you know, *I* would be MORE THAN HAPPY to take care of that for you. Seriously, since I do share a name with one of the main characters, and Eileen DID get my hopes up asking for me (OhMyFreakingBob, Eileen Dreyer actually asked if people knew how to get in touch with me! How cool is that?!?), you could , I don’t know, maybe find your way to sending me one as well. I would, of course, swear on the life of all six of my rugrats not to let it end up on e-bay. And I also swear to go out and buy an actual copy once it hits the shelf. I’ll even buy three copies, because I plan on giving it away after I do a review of it. (three, because I’m doing one for each of the sisters, you know)
So yeah, if you happen to have one, just sitting there on a table waiting for someone to come along and LOVE it… I’ll be more than happy to send you my address so you can send it this way…
Just sayin’…
And I bet everyone thought the “me” part would be confusing.
If anyone asks, I’d be willing to swear that Eileen promised to send Dee an ARC. (Dee, I’ll borrow it after you read it, before you give it away)
Thanks, KL. You have no idea the torment that I’ve gone through the past few days… Should I send in my address and hope they don’t notice that *I* am not supposed to actually get an ARC? Should I admit the truth, that Eileen picked such a GREAT name for her character, and I’ve been preening for months knowing that my name is in the book, and am just about to go nuts to read what *I* have done (in the book, I mean!)?
When I read that comment from Eileen the other day, I actually started an e-mail that went something like “Hey, *I* am dee, here’s my address, can’t wait for the arc.” Then I deleted it, knowing that it would not be honest. Damn my moral upbringing.
Now sheesh, people, would you please stop rubbing salt in my open wound? I know *I* am not getting an arc. Now everyone else knows it too. But do you have to keep reminding me?
Kidding. Just kidding. Mostly.
And KL, there is nothing in this world that would convince me to ever give an arc away. Nothing at all. I still have my arc of DLD. It sits on my shelf, right next to the signed hardback, and the unsigned paperback. Three copies of the same book? Of course!
Okay, so you won’t give it away. We could meet for a very loooonnnnnnggggg lunch and I’ll read it while you wait.
Ladies:
I LOVED this book. Already finished it. So many good things, and I have a new fave quote I’m going to steal. (And I never thought “llama” could be so funny.) Thank you so much!
I’m with Dee, I will never part with this ARC. Anyone who wants to read it will have to agree to be locked in my house until they’re done. And wear gloves. (kidding. sort of.)
Thank you, ME!
sigh
My copy of TUMF is already on order and awaiting its release date. I think the least ME could do is make a conference call to all CBs and read to us.
So you’re killing us. What’s the fave quote?
“Don’t you dare minion me!”
ok not quite right, just found it, it’s “How dare you come back here…and minion me.”
Me, there are SO MANY good quotes in this, how can you pick just one?
I’d anticipated that this would be a fun read, but I had no idea it would be such a funny book! I laughed out loud. It should have a label on it, warning people not to read the book in public.
Who steals my frog, steals trash.
Or
We know why we’re here, but what did the frog do?
Or even that shameless stealing of the title of that Beatles song
