Three of the most talented authors in the business join forces to deliver a delightful paranormal romp. Each author tells a portion of the story from one sister’s point of view. All are then seamlessly blended together to deliver giggles galore in this inspired melding of talent.
Summary: For years, the magical Fortune sisters have been hiding from evil Aunt Xantippe. Dee, the eldest, witnessed Xan murdering the girls’ parents. Dee’s power allows her to shape-shift, but hormonal reactions cause her to lose control.

Youngest sister Mare thinks her ability to move objects is lame, still she’s the undisputed Queen of the Value Video store and happy enough. Sister Lizzie has the power of transmutation and is determined to solve their financial problems by turning straw into gold.

Their lives are thrown into chaos when Xan casts a love spell to trap the sisters and their powers. Does true love come in the form of a skeptical researcher, a cranky warlock and a sexy biker? (ST. MARTIN’S, Jul., 416 pp., $7.99) HOT

Very gratifying! I like the juxtaposition of the 3 “true loves” at the end. Maybe I just like the word “cranky” - it’s so rarely used these days, and now it has fond “Agnes” associations.

I especially like the ‘cranky warlock.’ It says so much.

This is 4-1/2 out of 4, one presumes? Better not be out of 10. Otherwise I will have to get cranky.

It’s out of 5 but I think in the history of the magazine about four books have gotten that. I think. Could be wrong.

4 1/2 is virtually the highest score you can get, although they can add Top Pick to it to add even more weight.
