And the Tag Lines Are….
You guys blew us away. We really had a hard time winnowing down the winners to three…well, not quite. We did decide on three tag lines, with each of the characters choosing her favorite(and since I’m the one posting I can admit that I really did like those mother lines). We negotiated a bit, but came up with a similar short list, with a couple of honorable mentions. And then each character fought for her own(in a perfectly well-behaved manner, of course). But in the end, there could only be three tag lines. So, without further ado, these are the three:
Dee: Hocus Pocus Hanky Panky by me (and you thought you were joking)
with honorable mention to Orangehands, just for persistence
Lizzie: Love is a Witch by Auntie Em
with a big Sister Krissie smooch for her honorable mention, Hex, Drugs and Rock and Roll from Mary the CB. She really wishes we would have put drugs or rock n’ roll in the book so we could have used the tag line.
Mare: The only thing worse than their luck is their magic by Jamie
With all sincerity, there could have been about a dozen more. This was great fun. We just wish we would have thought of this before the publisher came up with the tag line. We thank you all for your hearty participation, and we’re delighted to send out advance reading copies. And since Krissie loved the hex line so much and I thought Orangehands worked so hard with her technical problems, all five get books. Please send your addresses to diva-d@swbell.net(that’s me) and we’ll get the books on their way around the three of us for signing and then on to you.
Oh, and don’t forget that Jen wants to remind you how awful the ARC covers are. Nothing like the real covers. Which will be beautiful. Almost as cool as the book itself. Ciao, bellas!

By the way, I sent the winners to our editor who wrote back in all caps, “FANTASTIC” and my agent is sending them to the film agent on the coast so he can use them to work on selling the book out there. So really, terrific terrific job.
And expect more tag line contests from me in the future because you guys are good.

Except, you know, OH isn’t done with finals until June 13. So in the interest of furthering her college education — this being her first year and all, and you know how hard it is to concentrate on finals when you’re a mere freshman — you should probably send her copy to someone else for safekeeping. Ahem.
It would be a real hardship, but I’d be willing to volunteer to hold on to it for her. Just until she has the time and attention to appreciate it fully.

Film agent. All our books go to film agents on the west coast. Sometimes they’re optioned. Speaking only for myself, movies are not made. But the agent loved this and now we have great tag lines for him, too. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Everything goes to the film agent. Then we spend a lot of time hoping.

How cool is that? 5 copies going out, and to very worthy people too. The tag line contest was a total blast (even if I didn’t win), and I’m looking forward to the next one. I’ll start thinking of AATHM tag lines now.
